Named after the brewer’s favorite French backcountry ski town, Tröegs LaGrave (ABV 8%) is a golden Tripel steeped in the tradition of Strong Ales originally brewed in Belgium. Its unique Belgian yeast forms the bedrock of LaGrave’s complex flavors. A full head releases aromas of crusty bread and earthy spices. The mouthfeel is well-rounded, and flavors include ripe pear, straw and black pepper. The finish is semi-dry, champagne-like. LaGrave is bottle-conditioned and highly carbonated. Pour into center of the glass for a full head and to release the yeast’s complex character. 12.7 oz (corked) bottle.

Brewery Information

Tröegs Brewing Company was founded in 1996 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania by brothers John and Chris Trogner. The name Tröegs is a combination of a nickname derived from the surname Trogner and the Dutch word kroeg ("pub"). Production is focused on specialty and seasonal beers.

Tröegs began construction of a new brewery in 2010 and moved from Harrisburg to Hershey in Fall 2011. At approximately 90,000 square feet, the new brewery is about three times the size of the original facility and includes a tap house (tasting room) with a full view of the brewhouse. Self-guided tours are available daily during regular business hours. Guided tasting tours are also available by appointment.

Every year, Tröegs sponsors Harrisburg Beer Week and a number of charitable organizations.
